Allowing kids to be kids

Ballet

In today’s world where people are so constantly influenced by media of all types and trends are more important than health or so it seems. We are noticing that the kids are growing up much faster than we did as kids. To some degree, it seems to make sense since kids are required to know more for their own personal safety and understanding of situations that may need to be avoided. But is this healthy? How does this affect their minds and their conditioning? Many people are saying that social media is raising our kids. Despite the 7-8 hours they spend at school, let’s say a productive 5 hours is coming out of that school day, they require at least 8 hours sleep and a couple hours for homework. Are we as parents getting the time with our kids that is necessary to help direct them to be prepared to deal with the negative influences that will be thrown their way on a daily basis? While we believe that our kids need to know somethings earlier than we did, we also believe it is beneficial to allow kids to be kids for as long as we can. The 18 year old adult thing is more of a benefit to companies who rely on young influential minds more than it does to the kids and or their family relationships/bonding. We are not saying by any chance to hold your child back from becoming an adult, but in a constantly changing world and, the awareness of trafficking, crimes and self sabotaging cults the youth need their parents more than ever before.

What do you think? what is a good age to provide a child with a social media account? what is a good time for a child to move out on their own?
