Internship

INTERNSHIP

Developing Dreams Foundation (DFF) is a legal corporation, although categorized as a not-for-profit, it is structured, run, and managed day-to-day as a business.  Unlike corporate America, DDF’s true function is to make the world better for others around us, without (directly or indirectly) being concerned with the bottom line (profit!).  We are still concerned with revenues, keeping costs low, and net profits (the bottom line), but DDF’sis not there to be kept! Thus, DDF’ssound business practices and resulting profits/net gains are being utilized to run the charity, but most importantly to help others improve their situation, whether in their pursuit of a future in performing arts or life in general.  In addition, DDFlooksto add value and improve the community as whole.

As in any corporation, it takes people to manage the day-to-day operations, to lead the various internal committees, and to help complete any task and overcome any obstacle in our path, no matter how big or small.  DDF actively looks for people (mostly students, but open to all interested parties) who are looking to make a difference as well as learn real world skills.  Currently, DDF offers a variety of internship positions determined by a strategic combination of DDF’s needs at the present time integrated with applicant’s strengths and future occupational desires.  At DDF, we want to make this a valuable experience for the applicant as well as productive stewardship for the charity.  While working with us, we are confident your experience will teach you real world lessons while undergoing real world experiences that will benefit you in the future, whether working for us after the internship or employed at another company.  As stated, these positions will be based on a combination of variables including applicant’s strengths, applicant’s academic focus as well as future aspirations, and meeting the specific needs of DDF during the timeframe of their internship. Our internships generally run for 3-12 months, at which time we can offer a full time position if there is interest from both parties.  For students, we are open to creating a curriculum and evaluation process to meet college requirements for course credits as well as offering sources of recommendation for future employment opportunities.  We are looking for outgoing people who are looking to help grow our charity into a nationally recognized foundation, looking to help the people we represent, and looking to learn from some innovative and creative people in the performing arts world.  Along with the real world lessons, here are some of the other task involved that the applicant will gain knowledge and experience from:

  • Daily Operations
  • Employee Delegation
  • Customer Retention
  • Grant seeking
  • Producing Musical & Dance Productions
  • Choreographic Context & Staging
  • Youth Programming
  • Personal Development
